The process began by studying how YAMA Studio works internally. Their practice combines research, material exploration, and collaborative design processes. Rather than focusing on finished outputs, the identity needed to reflect process and thinking. This shifted the direction toward a more editorial and less commercial tone.
The identity was built on structured typography and measured spacing. The system prioritizes clarity and allows content to define the visual hierarchy. No decorative elements were introduced unnecessarily. Instead, subtle variation in layout creates character. This creates a brand that feels architectural in its thinking.
The website functions as both portfolio and process archive. Projects are presented in a way that reveals thinking rather than just outcomes. Scrolling becomes a narrative experience, gradually unfolding layers of information. The result is a more immersive representation of the studio’s practice.
The identity extends into presentations, documentation, and digital assets. Every application follows the same structural logic. This ensures consistency across internal and external communication.
The final system positioned YAMA Studio as a clear and confident design practice. Identity, process, and communication now operate as a unified system. The project established a foundation that can grow with the studio over time.
